The People in the Rain
Watching
The People in the rain
Meticulous swarms of
Waterdrop pixies
Teasing clothes
And hair of
The People in the rain.
Watching
The People in the rain
Rush of a water touched wind
A wave of leaves and
Stinging
Encircling
Refreshing
Cold
Upturned collars
And twisted umbrellas
Held by
The People in the rain.
Watching
The People in the rain
Tires slick and black
Black eels spinning
Down an oil-paved
Waterway
Carrying on
Greasy, newly shined backs
The People in the Rain.
Watching
The People in the rain
Smells of dirt
And closely packed
Mildewing, fresh bodies-
Of fertilizer and upturned flower faces
And wet wool.
Seeping from
The People in the Rain.
